Course of action on how to remove acrylic nails
- The initial step requires you to cut the acrylic nails. Clip the nails down to as small as you can, with a nail clipper. This is going to make it easier for you to remove the acrylic nails.
- File off the gel or even the glossy coating from the surface of your acrylic nails, with a nail file.
- Apply a narrow coat of petroleum jelly on the skin nearby your nails.
- At this point, fill up a glass bowl with acetone nail polish remover.
- Dip your nails inside the bowl. The acetone within the nail polish remover will weaken the glue, that has fixed the acrylic nails on your natural ones.
- Keep your fingers submerged in the bowl, till the glue was wiped out totally. This will likely take 15 to 20 minutes, dependent on the hardness of the glue.
- Once the glue will get wiped out entirely, remove the acrylic nails. Do this with a delicate manner, in order that the procedure will not be painful.
- In the event the acrylic nails will not peel off easily, soak your fingertips inside nail polish remover once more or even clean them away with an orange-wood stick.
- Once you have removed all the acrylic nails, clean your hands meticulously with water. This will clear away the left over nail polish remover and also the petroleum jelly from your nails and also the skin close to them.
- In cases where glue remains to be left on your nails, remove it simply by buffing it off. Make use of the nail buffer for the purpose.
- Dry both hands with the towel and massage them with some drops of olive oil or moisturizing lotion.
- Apply a drop of olive oil to your nails, nail beds and also massage them properly, for 5 minutes. This method will bring back the actual moisture which was lost as a consequence of use of acetone nail polish remover.

I kept damaging my nails raw with just soaking in acetone and no other oils or nail filing etc…so the process was harsh on my nails but you made it all better! Now i will experience a smooth healthy way to remove my artifials! Thanks! ;)
Thank you i will try this today, i dont like going through pain when taking my artificals off
Great advice, thank you
Very helpful advice, but it took over three hours to remove the acrylic. I had to keep resoaking and filing but they finally came off.
Thank you so much I didn’t want to pay the nail salon to remove the acrylic.
Thanks so much, not only did my acrylic nails come off painlessly, but my real nails that grew stayed in tact which never happens when I just ripped them off.
easier way???
Yes. The easier way is to not use acrylics or use a true gel system like gelish.
be quiet

Oh my goodness !!! :) this worked so well !! At first I was doubtful but still gave it a try and everything was easy and simple although it took up time but that’s only cuz the gel glue thing was thick but over all it was helpful :) THANK YOU SOOO MUCH !!!!!!
I’m glad my method helped you.
Thank you’ This was very helpful and also you helped me save money on going back and having them to remove them, It worked great, Ty, Ty!!!!
How do you do this if you dont have the jelly stuff?
molly fizzle says tankyou
hello i am molly friend meee
That worked, thanks, just took a little bit longer than suggested
I’ve had acrylics off and on for years and always just let them grow out and pop off… this was painful and ugly. I finally decided to do it right, and this is right!
I got antsy and only soaked for 15 minutes. I wanted them removed after only 1.5 weeks (got them done long for a friend’s wedding), so 25 minutes might have been perfect for my amount of grow-out. I used the pointed metal nail file I used to file the acrylic down to pry off the rest of the acrylic after soaking since I didn’t have a wood stick. I thought this would look terrible afterwards, but after buffing, applying lotion, and applying the olive oil, my nails look awesome and healthy!
Thank you so much!
Oh and I also used Vick’s Vapo Rub since I didn’t have petroleum jelly. It spared my cuticles just as well.
And I poured the olive oil into a towel once per hand to make it easy to rub over the nails.
If you clip salon nails it will send a shock of pain throughout your nail bed so be very careful.Salon acrilic is very different from plastic nails and glue.
Thank you so much! My right-hand thumb has experienced some problems. Under the nail, it has been bleeding, due to the acrylic making my real nail becoming thin. I decided it was time for me & my nails to go our separate ways. lol. I will try this tomorrow! God bless you. (:
